Website access and technical delivery

Accessing the website involves processing connection data necessary for its delivery. This includes the IP address, requested pages and files, time of access, and browser and operating-system information. These data support website delivery, troubleshooting and security.

Processing for technical delivery and security is based on the legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Recipients may include service providers used for hosting and technical delivery.

Contact by email or telephone

If you contact me, I process the contact details and message content you provide to respond to your enquiry and any follow-up questions. Providing these details is voluntary; a response may not be possible without suitable contact information.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (the interest in handling enquiries), or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps.

Cookies and cookie settings

Cookies and similar technologies may store or access information on your device. The existing cookie-management feature stores your choices about cookie categories. You can access it using the “Cookie Einstellungen” button on the website.

Non-essential storage or access requires consent under Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG. Strictly necessary operations are subject to the exceptions in Section 25(2). Personal-data processing based on consent is governed by Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You may withdraw consent for the future through the cookie settings. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. This may restrict some website functions.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to analyse website use statistically and improve the website. Data processed may include page views, usage events, device and browser information, and technical connection data. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers.

Where Google Analytics processing is based on consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; non-essential access to a device is additionally governed by Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn for the future through the cookie settings.

The recipient is Google. Google-group companies may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. More information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and its information on data use on websites using Google services. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Fonts: Google Fonts

The website currently requests font resources from Google Fonts through fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. These requests disclose the connection data needed for delivery, including the IP address, to Google. Google Fonts is separate from Google Analytics and is used for visual presentation rather than the visitor statistics commissioned by me.

More information: Google’s Privacy Policy.

Image optimisation and delivery: ShortPixel

Some images are delivered through ShortPixel or the sp-ao.shortpixel.ai domain. Requesting these images establishes a connection to the service; delivery requires technical data such as the IP address and requested image URL.

The purpose is efficient image presentation. Processing for technical image delivery is based on the legitimate interest in a well-performing website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Provider information is available in the ShortPixel Privacy Policy.

External links

Links to other websites, including professional profiles, projects or organisations, lead to third-party services. If you open a link, the respective provider’s privacy information applies. A link does not embed the external service into this website.

Retention and recipients

Personal data are retained only for as long as required for their purpose or applicable statutory retention duties. For enquiries, retention depends on handling the enquiry, necessary follow-up correspondence and any legal duties. For technical data, relevant criteria include operations, troubleshooting and security needs.

Data are disclosed where necessary for the described purposes, based on consent, or required by law. Recipient categories include hosting and technical service providers and the providers expressly named above. Transfers outside the EU or EEA are subject to Articles 44 and following of the GDPR.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20).

Objection: Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Article 21 for reasons arising from your particular situation.

You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise your rights, contact info@petergoldbach.com.

You may also complain to a data-protection supervisory authority. Information about the Berlin authority is available at datenschutz-berlin.de.

Security and updates

The website is delivered over HTTPS. This policy is updated when the described processing or relevant circumstances change. For privacy enquiries, please use the contact details above.
